Very excited to have been given the opportunity to create a brand new soundwork inspired by the sounds of The Courtauld Institute, just days before the building closed to enter a major three year redevelopment and refurbishment programme. Ten years after The Ghosts Of Bush was recorded literally over the road from the Courtauld’s Somerset House HQ, I found myself heading below ground again, firstly to lead a couple of sound-hunting tours and audio workshops with a small team of Institute volunteers, then secondly for the great unveiling of the final work, pictured above. Thankfully the sonic pickings were extremely rich!

Special thanks to Tom Bilson for the invitation, plus Finn, Rosa and everyone who turned up to the workshops. My gratitutude must also go to Andy Popperwell for these photos and bringing the PA! At the time of writing the recordings we created remain strictly for the ears who of those attended either the workshops or the resulting live performance, but who knows it just might surface elsewhere one of these days…
